This was probably one of the most interesting and crazy day I experienced. We left school at 6:30 am and we had to move about 80 people in the metro. Kinda stressful aha. Then, we has to walk a lot, even if the metro station was close, because everything was closed for the parade. And that’s when we saw… lamas. Yes, 7am in the middle of DC, a guy with lamas ahaha Once we got in the line to pass through the security, we had to wait almost three hours to get in. There were a lot of protesters, more than supporters. It was pretty interesting to see the type of people, the type of signs, the type of message. But, having a Swiss point of view, it felt very strange. I’m not use to protests like this at all. When we finally got in, the army was there, and it was the first time I saw the US army 🙂 Once in the area, it was the strangest thing ever: there was NOBODY. You probably saw the pictures that compare the people present for Obama’s inauguration and for Trump’s. I assure it was true! So then we just waited, tried to listen to the speech and waited again to see the parade. This was pretty cool, there were all the things possible, Navy, police, important people,… Aaaaaand we got to see Trump (especially his big red tie) in the car, waving his hand and making thumbs up (as you can see on the picture)! It’s maybe not the best one, and I don’t know if it’s really cool to say that, but at least, I can sy that I saw a President of the United States.
Ca, c’était probablement un des jours les plus intéressants et fous que j’ai vécu ici. On a quitté l’école à 6h30 et on a du bouger presque 80 dans le métro. Un peu stressant aha. Ensuite, on a dû beaucoup marcher, même si le métro est vraiment près de où on devait aller, parce que tout était fermé pour la parade. Et c’est là où on a vu… des lamas. Oui, 7h du mat, au milieu de DC, un type avec des lamas ahaha Une fois qu’on est arrivés dans la file pour passer la sécurité, on a dû attendre presque 3h pour entrer. Il y avait beaucoup de gens qui protestaient, plus que les supporters. C’était assez intéressant de voir le type de personnes, de posters, de messages. On a vraiment pas l’habitude de ça en Suisse, du coup ça faisait bizarre. Quand on a finalement pour entrer, il y avait l’armée, et c’était la première fois que je voyais l’US Army en vrai uhuh Un fois dans la zone, c’était trèèès bizarre : y avait PERSONE. Vous avez sûrement vu les photos qui comparent la foule à l’inauguration d’Obama et celle de Trump. Je confirme, c’est vrai pour Trump ! Donc à partir de là, on a attendu, essayé d’écouter le speech et attendu encore pour la parade. C’était assez cool, il y avait toute sorte de corps, la Navy, la police,… Eeeeeeet, on a pu voir Trump (sûrtout sa grosse cravate rouge en fait) dans la voiture, faisant coucou et des pouces levés (comme vous pouvez voir sur la photo, plus ou moins) ! C’est peut-être pas le meilleur, et je sais pas si c’est vraiment cool de dire ça mais, au moins, je peux dire que j’ai vu un Président des Etats-Unis.
